About this policy

This policy explains how Ledgerr Pty Ltd (ACN 702 201 830) (“Ledgerr”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It covers ledgerr.com, app.ledgerr.com and the email we send.

Ledgerr is in private pre-launch. We will update this policy before any feature that collects new kinds of information goes live; the date at the top shows the current version.

What we collect

  • Waitlist: your email address, if you join the waitlist.
  • Account: your name, email address, date of birth, mobile number, residential address and state, and the sign-in security you set up. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our sign-in provider; passkeys stay on your device.
  • Financial information you choose to give us: statements you upload, accounts, balances, bills, subscriptions, insurance, loans, property and household details you enter, and choices you make in the app.
  • Email you forward to your Ledgerr receipts address (for example a renewal notice), which we read to pick out the plan, price and date.
  • Records of your acceptance of these documents, including the time, IP address and browser.
  • Technical and security information, such as IP address, browser type and sign-in events.

We do not collect your internet-banking passwords or your tax file number. We do not currently collect information through the Consumer Data Right; if we do, a separate CDR policy will apply.

How we use it

  • To provide Ledgerr to you: building your household picture, finding recurring payments and showing what they cost.
  • To verify your identity and keep your account secure.
  • To send transactional email, such as verification codes and security notices.
  • To answer your questions and support requests.
  • To fix and improve the service, using aggregated or de-identified information wherever we can.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We use automated tools, including AI models run within our own cloud environment in Australia, to categorise transactions and recognise recurring payments. They process your information only to provide the service to you. Your information is not used to train third-party AI models.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We share it only:

  • with the service providers that host and run Ledgerr for us, chiefly Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, sign-in, email delivery and AI processing), under contracts that limit their use of it;
  • when you ask for a feature that needs a third party, such as a property value estimate, in which case we send only the details that feature needs (for example the property address);
  • when the law requires or authorises it.

Where your information is stored

Ledgerr’s systems, and the information you give us in the app, are stored and processed in Australia (Amazon Web Services, Sydney and Melbourne regions). Email you send to our team is handled by Google Workspace, which may store it outside Australia.

How we protect it

  • Encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Each household’s information is kept separate from every other household’s at several independent layers.
  • Staff and operator access requires multi-factor authentication, is limited to what the task needs, and is logged.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information while your account is open and for as long as we need it for the purposes above. When you close your account, or ask us to, we delete or de-identify your information unless the law requires us to keep it. Email you forward to your receipts address is deleted within 30 days; the details we picked out of it stay with your account.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@ledgerr.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Email and unsubscribing

We send transactional email only. Security and sign-in messages cannot be switched off while you hold an account, because they protect it. To stop all email, close your account or email support@ledgerr.com. To leave the waitlist, email support@ledgerr.com and we will remove your address.

Questions and complaints

Contact us at privacy@ledgerr.com. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We will publish any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
